Enrol on our 10 day intensive professional course, and change your life.

THE DETAILS
This course is for aspiring florists and will teach you everything you need to know to become a contemporary professional florist. Using an abundance of the best seasonal flowers available, you will learn how to:
Order, prepare and condition flowers, as well as create fully stocked flower and stem bars
Create hand-tied bouquets, master essential florist skills and techniques, as well as professional wrapping techniques
Design modern vase arrangements for all types of events (such as corporate, private home contracts, launches, celebrations and parties)
Craft both fresh and dried wreaths and garlands for any season
Make wedding flowers for bridal parties (bridal bouquets, posies, buttonholes and flower crowns) as well as ceremony and reception arrangements
Design and create sustainable installations such as a flower cloud, meadow (footed and suspended), floral archway and plinth spill
Create sustainable funeral tributes and arrangements
In addition to all of the practical learning, we’ll also be covering the business side of floristry, and ensure you know how to:
Source, buy, cost and price flowers
Understand and create flower recipes and plans
wrap and present all arrangements including bouquets and buttonholes, as well as how to transport your arrangements safely.
This workshop is jam packed with as much opportunity for hands-on practice as possible. We teach with design principles in mind, but we encourage you to begin to create your own signature style. There’s no gatekeeping here, we will gladly answer as many of your burning questions about the in’s and out’s of professional floristry, that only a professional with many years of experience can share.
You’ll also be invited into a private online-community where you will have access to additional learning and resources, supportive network and access to industry opportunities.
By the end of the Professional course, you will have the skills, knowledge and confidence to begin your career (or side hustle) in floristry, as well as an enviable portfolio.
You’ll also receive The Birmingham Flower School Certificate, and a personal reference, that you’ll certainly find useful if you’re applying for floristry jobs.
NOTES
All the flowers, materials and equipment you’ll need are provided. Please feel free to bring your own floristry snips if you have a favourite pair! No experience is required, though we recommend that you attend at least two of the other workshops before, as this is an intensive fast-paced course and we want you to be able to keep up.
You will be introduced to the best blooms and materials of the season, and shown step by step, how to create each contemporary arrangement; whilst embracing sustainable, plastic, foam-free mechanics and techniques.
We love hosting and provide a pastry breakfast, delicious light lunch and complimentary drinks everyday whilst you are with us.
