The Wedding Florist Course
If you’ve always dreamt of becoming a wedding florist, creating the most dreamy, IG worthy florals, but weren’t sure where to start.
Start here. We will teach you.
(p.s. you should definitely book this course if you’ve been asked to do wedding flowers, or you are planning in DIY wedding flowers and you have no idea what you're doing)
Dates and times: (two-day course)
DATES TBC 10am-4pm
Bring your notepad and charge your phone, this is an intensive few days where we will teach you everything you need to know to create wedding flowers.
SCHEDULE
Day One: We will go over the essential basics of flower prep and conditioning, then begin by learning how to make a bridesmaids posy and hand-tied bridal bouquet. We’ll then break for a quick bite to eat, and get right back to it to learn how to make a buttonhole and flower crown, using advanced florist taping and wiring techniques.
Day Two: We’ll tackle vase and compote arrangements, grab a quick lunch break and then learn how to create a tablescape and hanging meadow.
Alongside learning how to make bridal party flowers, and versatile ceremony and reception arrangements, we’ll also be covering:
how much wedding flowers cost and how to price for weddings
where to source materials and how to create flower recipes and plans
how to wrap and present bouquets and buttonholes
essential florist kit for weddings
This workshop is jam packed with as much opportunity for hands-on practice as possible. We teach with design principles in mind, but we encourage you to begin to create your own signature style. There’s no gatekeeping here, we will gladly answer as many of your burning questions about the in’s and out’s of wedding floristry, that only a professional with many years of experience can share.
NOTES
We provide all the flowers, materials and equipment you’ll need. No prior experience is required for this workshop, but we recommend that you attend one of the Workshops before so you are familiar with handling flowers, as this is an intensive fast paced course.
You will be introduced to the best blooms and materials of the season, and shown step by step, how to create wedding flowers, using as many seasonally-grown flowers as possible; whilst embracing sustainable, plastic, foam-free mechanics and techniques. Take home your signature creations to show off your new skills and enjoy.
We love hosting, and provide a pastry breakfast, delicious light lunch and complimentary drinks whilst you are with us.
Become the florist.
We have a variety of dates and timings available (please note dates are released in seasonal batches)
We’re really excited to be sharing all our knowledge with you, and can’t wait to welcome you to The Birmingham Flower School!
Places limited to 6 places, to ensure everyone gets individual attention. For best results - bring your bestie! If you have any accessibility or dietary requirements please let us know.
